A Labor Government introduced superannuation to Australia and made this country a global leader in the field.
A Julia Gillard Labor Government will continue this tradition by lifting the superannuation guarantee from 9 per cent to 12 per cent.
For a 30 year-old person earning average wages, this means an extra $108,000 in retirement savings.
Tony Abbott has vowed not to introduce any of this important reform.
The previous Coalition Government failed to increase superannuation contributions for 11 years.
Your vote on August 21 will have a huge impact on your super and your future.

Mark Lennon, Secretary Unions NSW:
“All working Australians should have the right to a comfortable retirement. Superannuation was introduced by a Labor Government, but it was allowed to stagnate through 11 years of neglect.
If elected, Julia Gillard will lift the superannuation guarantee from 9% to 12%, which will dramatically boost retirement savings for average Australians - but a Tony Abbott Government would put your super at risk. Australians simply can't afford to let that happen.”
